Perfectionism in young children may indicate OCD risk

Researchers at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis have found what may be a behavioral marker for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) risk. Young children with tendencies toward perfectionism and excessive self-control were twice as likely as others to develop OCD by the time they reach their teens. And MRI brain scans showed that the perfectionists had differences in a brain structure previously linked to OCD in adults.
